John Cabot University (JCU), a four year, accredited American liberal arts college in Rome, Italy, invites applications for an open-rank (assistant, associate or full professor) full-time tenure-track faculty position in International Relations. We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in Political Science, demonstrated excellence in teaching and research, and commitment to academic service and program development.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in international political economy, international development or international security (including non-traditional security areas such as food security, cyber security or the environment). There is no regional specialization for the position, but a focus on Africa, the Americas or Europe would be welcome. The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate level courses with a load of three courses per semester as well as be an active member of the university community. Ability to teach graduate level courses is an asset.
The ideal candidate should have familiarity and experience with the American liberal arts educational tradition. The initial appointment is for two years with the possibility of tenure. Candidates are expected to be fluent in English, which is the language of instruction.
